My name is Rowan North and I am a freelance mixed media illustrator and art educator.
I use just about everything for my work, whether paints, colored pencils, digital, papercraft, or more. I do commissions, go to conventions and art show, and love sharing not only my work, but how to use your tools to become a better artist. I am also outspoken on issues of mental disorders.
Most importantly, I love following my passions and dreams and think all should do the same.

LIFE UPDATES:
Burnout
So I survived the Summer of Hell where I had four events nearly back to back. I expected to face burnout but I was surprised by just how BAD it got!! It didn't help that there were other life changes that took place exactly at the same time as well as some emergencies. For one, the transmission died in the car, trapping me four hours away from home. All my con money ended up going to the expensive repairs, and I wasn't sure when I would get home. But eventually I did, just to have a good friend of mine who has faced extremely difficult times move in about a week later. Add some serious family struggles and mental-shif

The Long and Winding Road

Hey guys! It's been a bit too long since I've updated. Mostly cause I know a lot of people don't read journals as much. Still, I think it's important to roadmap and point out the important landmarks on my journey thus far.
Last we updated, I had just finished Winterfaire, and we had car troubles. Let's begin there.

We got a new car. It's newer, and much more reliable. There were some... Issues at first due to my own cluelessness, but it's been really good for taking me to and from conventions. Plus roomy enough to carry all my supplies without a problem!
